Chris S. Barnett – Attorney
Mr. Barnett is a born and raised Texan. As the first-born son of a successful doctor and businessman, he learned from an early age what it meant to be a professional. It wasn’t enough just to have a job, he needed a profession. Straight out of high school he attended the FlightSafety Academy in Vero Beach, FL and obtained his FAA Commercial, Multi-Engine and Instrument ratings. At the completion of his training, he began working as a corporate pilot for an Austin-based chain of cancer treatment centers. Soon thereafter Mr. Barnett became the owner/operator of an air charter company and at the age of twenty he was piloting multi-engine aircraft throughout the State of Texas transporting politicians, attorneys, doctors and business owners. Mr. Barnett later graduated from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University with honors and received a Bachelor of Science in Professional Aeronautics. He continues to fly for business and pleasure, has obtained his FAA Airline Transport Pilot rating, and has logged over 5,000 hours of flight time to date.
After fulfilling his dream of flying professionally, Mr. Barnett sought challenges elsewhere and became involved in several successful business ventures in areas of retail, information technology, residential & commercial construction and securities speculation. Throughout his business dealings, he regularly sought advice from the legal profession for various reasons. It was this interaction with his attorneys that fueled his desire to chase his most challenging dream yet, to become an attorney. Mr. Barnett’s wide range of life experiences and core professionalism is evident whether in the courtroom or at the negotiation table.
He is a strong supporter of the United States Constitution, the Texas Constitution and State’s Rights. Mr. Barnett is a Life Member of the NRA and was voted by his law section “Most Likely to Work for the NRA”. His “tip of the spear” mentality is crucial to successfully fighting for his clients’ interests.
When he is not in the office or courtroom, he is in the outdoors with his wife and five children. Mr. Barnett enjoys offshore fishing, big game hunting and of course, flying.
